Meer dan een dozijn producten met Jif pindakaas zijn de afgelopen weken teruggeroepen vanwege een salmonella-uitbraak. De FDA heeft een pagina aangemaakt om de teruggeroepen producten te volgen.
Met weinig federale regelgeving is het aan kruideniers en buurtwinkels om te beslissen of en wanneer ze klanten informeren over een terugroeping van voedselveiligheid.
Veel bedrijven roepen voedselproducten terug die met Jif-pindakaas zijn gemaakt of verkocht, nadat Jif onlangs 49 van zijn eigen producten terugriep wegens salmonellagevaar.
Een salmonella-uitbraak in verband met pindakaas van het merk Jif heeft geleid tot 14 ziektegevallen en twee ziekenhuisopnames in 12 staten, aldus de CDC.
